Cloud Evolution Instead of Technical Stagnation
Challenge
Kemper, a global market leader in fittings and systems for drinking water hygiene, copper alloy casting and rolled high-performance alloys, had built a maintenance-intensive on-premise system landscape over the years. Manual workflows dominated daily operations, implementing new language versions took weeks, and outdated architectures prevented cloud readiness. The system had reached its operational limits and did not offer the agility Kemper needed for its international expansion.
Our Solution
As certified FirstSpirit experts, we first conducted an in-depth architecture audit with a roadmap. The entire infrastructure was migrated to FirstSpirit Cloud (SaaS). Multiple API-based importers synchronize data from Crossbase (DAM/PIM), Talentstorm (recruiting) and real-time metal price APIs. Category and product detail pages are automatically generated from PIM data - eliminating the previous manual maintenance effort. A modular frontend framework based on PatternLab was thoroughly refactored. The multi-brand strategy consolidates Kemper and its subsidiary Dendrit on a shared platform core.
Results
Successful cloud platform go-live with pilot migration of the Dendrit website. Automated data synchronization eliminates redundant maintenance efforts and centralizes media and product information. The scalable architecture reduces implementation effort for new markets to a fraction. The roadmap includes international rollout (including the US market), AI-powered smart search and automated translation workflows directly in FirstSpirit.
